During this eye project I demonstrated my ability to blend color and use layers to give the image a dimensional look.  The light reflections are vital to achieve a real life look.
These illustrations were my first design assignment.  Everyone has to start somewhere!  I was assigned to make a business card and a website wireframe.  The project taught me the basic concepts of Adobe Illustrator and working within art boards to provide a design package for a perspective client.  I made a shoe company that called Feather Lite, they sold extra lite running shoes.  I outlined a shoe and placed a feather outline on the side to represent the company.  This project laid the foundation for my appreciation of design.  I really like vector graphics because they are versatile artwork.  They can be used in various medias because they are resolution independent and do not lose detail when resized.
For this illustration I was expected to create an informational flyer.  The flyer had to have an image and text designed by using illustration tools including typography, curves, fills and strokes.  The main focus of this project for me was to learn how to use paths, anchor points, direction lines, and points to create an image.  I also enjoyed learning how to place text on a path to guide the text along the path and apply kerning or tracking to space the text out correctly.  I have already found this skill useful when reconstructing life-like items or images.  I enjoy adding details to an image to make it recognizable.
